Il 33° Trofeo Andrea Margutti si svolgerà dall’1 al 3 aprile 2022 sul circuito South Garda Karting di Lonato. L’evento è aperto alle categorie MINI Gr.3, OKJ, KZ2, X30 Junior e X30 Senior.

Per la squadra ufficiale CRG sarà la prima occasione, dopo i test invernali, di confrontarsi in gara con i maggiori competitors e avere quindi i primi riscontri ufficiali sui telai 2022. Il focus del team sarà orientato in particolare sulla classe KZ, dove da sempre i colori CRG ricoprono un ruolo di primo piano, sia dal punto di vista sportivo che commerciale.
La gara di Lonato sarà anche la prima occasione per vedere in azione con CRG nella classe top del karting Viktor Gustavsson che, dopo aver impressionato positivamente i tecnici CRG nei test invernali, punta a fare esperienza in gara, in vista di una stagione che lo vedrà tra i sicuri protagonisti. Come i suoi più blasonati compagni di team, i confermati Jeremy Iglesias e Alex Irlando, entrambi in pista a Lonato per la loro prima uscita stagionale. In KZ saranno in gara anche Nilsson, Tonteri, Pescador e la debuttante con i colori CRG Natalia Balbo. Per tutta la squadra KZ il partner motoristico sarà la TM, sia con il supporto diretto della Factory di Pesaro che del preparatore Gianfranco Galiffa.
Nella categoria OK CRG schiererà il brasiliano Gabriel Gomez, protagonista dell’ultimo FIA World Championship di categoria e incaricato di svolgere la parte più importante dei test per la linea dei telai dedicati alle classi direct drive.
Un brasiliano sarà il portacolori di CRG anche in Junior dove sarà al via Fiorentino, mentre in Mini saranno il tedesco Emilio Bernd e il russo Nikita Gerasimets a difendere i colori CRG.
I programmi agonistici 2022 per la squadra ufficiale CRG prevedono la partecipazione a tutta la Serie WSK Master, la Champions of the Future e tutti gli eventi FIA Karting, oltre a una selezione di eventi e Trofei che saranno valutati durante la stagione. Anche la drivers line-up non è ancora chiusa, in quanto, se per la classe KZ tutto è stato definito da tempo con un “dream team” in termini di esperienza, per le classi OK e OK Junior si stanno ancora definendo alcuni accordi in funzione del Campionato Europeo che inizierà ad aprile.
Il programma della WSK Master di Lonato prevede 2 giorni di prove libere (mercoledì e giovedì) e l’inizio dell’evento venerdì, quando sono in programma le prove di qualificazione e le prime heat eliminatorie. Per seguire l’azione in pista sul sito WSK da venerdì sarà attivo il live timing e le gare di domenica saranno trasmesse in live streaming.
Le aspettative dei piloti CRG
Viktor Gustavsson (KZ): “Non vedo l’ora di scendere in pista per questa mia prima gara con i colori CRG. Il feeling con la squadra e il materiale tecnico durante i test invernali è stato molto buono e credo che potremo essere competitivi in poco tempo. Questa gara con tutti i team più importanti presenti ci darà ottime indicazioni sul lavoro fatto e su quello da fare in vista del Campionato Europeo FIA che sarà il nostro primo obiettivo importante della stagione”.
Gabriel Gomez (OK): “Sono molto contento dell’opportunità che CRG mi ha dato di correre qui in Europa e cercherò di fare del mio meglio per contribuire allo sviluppo dei telai 2022, ma anche per ottenere il massimo in termini di risultati. Siamo soddisfatti dei test svolti la scorsa settimana e vogliamo fare bene da subito, per iniziare la stagione nel migliore dei modi”.

Dopo l’avvio della stagione con la WSK Champions Cup disputata domenica 23 gennaio, sempre a Lonato nel successivo weekend del 30 gennaio la stagione entra nel vivo con la prima prova della WSK Super Master Series. Saranno presenti tutti i costruttori insieme ai più importanti team internazionali e un parco partenti di 300 piloti nelle categorie KZ2, OK, OKJ e MINI.

Dal 9 al 13 febbraio la pista di Lonato ospiterà il 2° appuntamento della WSK Master, al quale prenderanno parte circa 350 piloti nelle 4 categorie internazionali Mini, OK Junior, OK Senior e KZ. Questa grande affluenza è un segnale positivo e premia la scelta dei principali team e costruttori impegnati nel karting internazionale, di selezionare di comune accordo le gare a cui prendere parte, a margine degli eventi FIA Karting. In questo modo gli impegni delle squadre saranno più gestibili e lo spettacolo in pista sempre di alto livello.
Il CRG Racing Team sarà presente a ranghi (quasi) completi soprattutto nella categoria KZ, dove schiererà tutti i propri top driver a cui si aggiungerà il giovanissimo Andrea Bosetto. L’appuntamento di questo weekend avrà un valore agonistico importante grazie al confronto con tutti i team e piloti più importanti del karting internazionale e sarà utile soprattutto per proseguire il lavoro di sviluppo tecnico dei nuovi telai 2022.
Le previsioni meteo sono positive con una settimana di sole e temperature miti, fattore che agevolerà il lavoro della staff tecnico e dei piloti, ma offrirà anche uno show avvincente a tutti gli passionati.
Nella classe KZ, accanto ai sei piloti che hanno preso parte al 1° Round di 15 giorni fa (Jeremy Iglesias, Paavo Tonteri, Viktor Gustavsson, Brandon Nilsson, Alex Irlando e Natalia Balbo) CRG schiererà anche Jorge Pescador, Lorenzo Giannoni e la new entry Andrea Bosetto. Nella categoria OK sarà il brasiliano Gabriel Gomez a difendere i colori del team, mentre in OKJ debutterà Sebastian Garzon Orozco. Il brand CRG sarà protagonista anche nella categoria Mini, con il danese Oliver Rasmussen, il russo Nikita Gerasimets e il tedesco Emilio Bernd.
Il programma del lungo weekend di Lonato prevede 2 giorni di prove libere (mercoledì e giovedì) e a partire da venerdì le prove di qualificazione e le heat eliminatorie, che porteranno alle Pre-finali e Finali di domenica. Le aspettative dei piloti:
Viktor Gustavsson (KZ): “Alla mia prima gara con CRG 15 giorni fa c’era sicuramente un po’ di pressione e alcuni meccanismi di lavoro con la squadra dovevano essere rodati, ma già per questo weekend tutto sarà più fluido. Abbiamo dimostrato di avere un ottimo potenziale e ora dobbiamo concentrarci sul lavoro di set-up e fare alcune prove comparative su due diverse versioni di telaio che avremo a disposizione; da questo punto di vista è molto positivo sapere che il tempo sarà bello tutta la settimana, così che la programmazione del nostro lavoro sarà svolta senza ostacoli. È molto utile anche avere compagni di team di così alto livello, in quanto i dati che ci scambiamo ci consentono di fare molte prove in poco tempo. Per domenica vorrei ottenere il mio primo podio con CRG e lotterò per questo, anche se la concorrenza sarà tanta, a partire proprio dai miei stessi compagni di squadra”.
Alex Irlando (KZ): “La prima gara WSK non è andata benissimo per me, un po’ perché non avevo svolto gli ultimi test invernali e un po’ perché dal punto di vista tecnico non sono riuscito a trovare il miglior set-up tra telaio e motore. Ma la squadra nel suo insieme ha fatto molto bene e soprattutto sono emerse tutte le potenzialità dei telai 2022, un fattore che ci motiva molto. Il mio obiettivo sarà quello di concentrarmi sulle prestazioni questo weekend, lavorando anche in chiave qualifiche, perché con una entry list di così elevato valore, sarà molto importante partire davanti già nelle heat eliminatorie”.
Gabriel Gomez (OK): “Abbiamo lavorato tanto tra la 1ª gara WSK e questo weekend, sia sul fronte telaio, che su quello motore; ora dovremo verificare tutti i dati raccolti in condizioni di gara, con la pista che diventerà gradualmente con molto grip, considerando gli oltre 300 piloti che prenderanno parte all’evento e il numero di gomme nuove che saranno utilizzate da tutti. Dal punto di vista del telaio sappiamo di avere un eccellente potenziale e anche per quanto riguarda il motore avremo già da questa gara alcune evoluzioni che miglioreranno nel complesso le nostre performance”.

Dopo una vigilia caratterizzata dal freddo intenso, a Lonato è tornato a splendere il sole per la fase finale della WSK Champions Cup, e il bel tempo ha messo tutti nelle migliori condizioni per esprimersi al massimo della competitività. Ottima ancora una volta la partecipazione in questo evento by WSK Promotion che ha aperto la stagione 2022 con una presenza di oltre 170 piloti di 36 nazionalità nelle categorie KZ2, OK, OKJ e MINI.
Le Prefinali.
KZ2. L’olandese Senna Van Walstijn (Sodikart/Sodikart-TM Racing-Vega) si è confermato vincente nella Prefinale di KZ2 dopo un bel recupero. Indietro invece l’altro protagonista e suo compagno di squadra, il francese Emilien Denner (Sodikart/Sodikart-TM Racing), per una uscita di pista nel primo giro di gara.
Il russo Maksimilian Popov (Ward Racing/Tony Kart-Vortex-LeCont) si è imposto nella OK precedendo in volata Danny Carenini (Team Driver/KR-Iame), mentre l’italiano Sebastiano Pavan, compagno di squadra di Carenini e protagonista nelle manches, è stato costretto al ritiro.
OKJ. Nella OK-Junior è ancora il russo Dmitry Matveev (Koski Motorsport/Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) a confermarsi dominatore della categoria, nella Prefinale Matveev ha preceduto il pilota di Singapore Tiziano Monza (DPK/KR-Iame) e l’inglese Nathan Tye (Sodikart/Sodikart-TM Racing).
MINI. Nella MINI, per l’alto numero di concorrenti, si sono disputate due Prefinali. Nella Prefinale-A si è rivelato ancora dominatore il pilota ceco Jindrich Pesl (BabyRace/Parolin-Iame-Vega), mentre nella Prefinale-B all’ultimo giro è stato lo svedese Scott Kin Lindblom (Gamoto/EKS-TM Racing) ad avere la meglio sullo spagnolo Christian Costoya (Parolin Motorsport/Parolin-TM Racing).
Le Finali.
In KZ2 domina l’olandese Senna Van Walstijn.
In KZ2 l’olandese Senna Van Walstijn (Sodikart/Sodikart-TM Racing-Vega) si rivela dominatore del weekend, anche se in finale è costretto a lasciare momentaneamente la leadership al francese Arthur Carbonnel (CBP Sport/Sodikart-TM Racing). Negli ultimi giri Van Walstijn torna al comando della gara e taglia il traguardo in prima posizione davanti al suo compagno di squadra, il francese Emilien Denner (Sodikart/Sodikart-TM Racing). autore di una rimonta di 10 posizioni. Carbonnel termina terzo. Quarta posizione per David Trefilov (Maranello SRP/Maranello-TM Racing) che conclude davanti a Matteo Zanchi (Zanchi Motorsport/BirelArt/TM Racing).
Nella OK si impone l’italiano Danny Carenini.
Nella OK la vittoria non sfugge a Danny Carenini (Team Driver/KR-Iame-LeCont) dopo essere scivolato in terza posizione nei primi giri di gara. Ripreso il comando della Finale, Carenini non ha problemi a concludere con la vittoria davanti al russo Maksimilian Popov (Ward Racing/Tony Kart-Vortex) e all’inglese Coskun Irfan (Shamick Europe/Parolin-Iame). In quarta posizione si piazza il tedesco Felix Arnold (CV Perfomance/KR-Iame), quinto l’italiano Francesco Marenghi (DPK Racing/KR-Iame). Ottima rimonta dell’altro italiano Sebastiano Pavan (Team Driver/KR-Iame) terminato sesto dopo essere partito dall’ultima posizione.
Nella OKJ sorprende il peruviano Andres Cardenas.
Sorprendente la finale della OK-Junior, dove riesce a vincere il peruviano Andres Cardenas (Energy Corse/Energy-TM Racing-Vega) dopo che il russo Dmitry Matveev (Koski Motorsport/Tony Kart-Vortex) aveva dominato fino alla prefinale. In finale Matveev perde subito posizioni fino ad essere costretto al ritiro, mentre Cardenas raggiunge il successo davanti al cinese Zhenrui Chi (Beyond Racing Team/KR-TM Racing) che in volata precede l’inglese Nathan Tye (Sodikart/Sodikart-TM Racing). Quarto si piazza il brasiliano Miguel Costa (DPK Racing/KR-Iame), quinto l’israeliano Guy Elbag (Ward Racing/Tony Kart-Vortex).
La Finale della MINI va allo spagnolo Christian Costoya.
Dopo un vivace scambio di posizioni in testa alla Finale della MINI, a prendere il sopravvento nelle ultime battute è lo spagnolo Christian Costoya (Parolin Motorsport/Parolin-TM Racing-Vega) che conclude con la vittoria davanti al ceco Jindrich Pesl (BabyRace/Parolin-Iame) che aveva dominato in prova e nelle manches. Conquista il podio l’olandese Dean Hoogendoorn (Alonso Kart by Kidix/Alonso-Iame), mentre in quarta e quinta posizione terminano il belga Dries Van Langendonck (Parolin Motorsport/Parolin-TM Racing) e l’austriaco Niklas Schaufler (Emme Racing/EKS-TM Racing).

Appena informati dalla proprietà del circuito di Adria dell’impossibilità di organizzare la WSK Champions Cup per cause legate all’autodromo, WSK Promotion è costretto a rimodulare il calendario per la stagione 2022.
La prova della WSK Champions Cup del 23 Gennaio è spostata al Circuito South Garda Karting di Lonato, così come la prima prova della WSK Super Master Series si disputerà il 30 Gennaio a Lonato. La seconda prova della WSK Super Master Series è confermata a Lonato per il 13 Febbraio. La terza e la quarta prova della WSK Super Master Series sono confermate per il 6 Marzo a La Conca, e per il 13 Marzo al Circuito Internazionale Napoli di Sarno.
La WSK Euro Series si svolgerà su due prove: la prima a Lonato il 17 Luglio 2022 (che prende il posto di Adria) e la seconda a Sarno il 31 Luglio (al posto di La Conca).
A seguito di questi interventi, il Promotore WSK Promotion ha deciso di istituire un nuovo evento riservato alla categoria MINI in prova unica, denominato WSK Super Cup by MINI per il 4 Settembre a La Conca.
La prova unica della WSK Open Cup è confermata per il 2 Ottobre, circuito da definire.
Confermate le due prove di chiusura stagione della WSK Final Cup, il 6 Novembre a Sarno e il 20 Novembre a Lonato.
WSK Promotion si scusa con tutti i concorrenti, i team, i piloti e gli addetti ai lavori per quanto accaduto, per cause che hanno colto di sorpresa anche la nostra organizzazione.

Under the Andalusian sun, the RMC Euro Trophy Winter Cup heralded the year 2022 and offered the participants the opportunity for a first international showdown before the official start of the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy. For three days, competitors from more than 20 countries fought some exciting and heated battles on the 1,588-meter-long track not far from Malaga – where the winners could look forward to great prizes that included race entries to the RMCET series and RMC International Trophy at Le Mans.
Mini MAX: Albert Friend keeps his nerve until the end
Pole position in the Mini category went to local hero Nicolas Garcia Diaz (Monlau Competicion). The Spanish driver asserted himself at the top of the standings with his fast lap at the beginning, but had to give way to Albert Friend (Dan Holland Racing) after the heats. The young British driver won all three heats and snatched first place on the grid for the pre-final.
Friend also maintained his opening performance in the first race. Right from the start, the youngster set the pace and consistently placed himself at the front. The DHR protégé extended his lead and celebrated a sovereign victory in the end. Behind him, pole-setter Garcia Diaz and Boaz Maximov (Bouvin Power) fought for second place in a thrilling duel. Maximov ultimately succeeded when he passed his opponent halfway through the race and was in front at the finish. Fourth went to Max Cuthbert (Dan Holland Racing) ahead of Nikita Nikishov (C.D ALC Motorsport) in fifth place.
The finale was hard to beat in terms of excitement. Friend won the start and led the field. Garcia Diaz remained in the slipstream of the leader and put the British driver under pressure. In the second to last lap, the Spanish driver even passed him. But at the last moment, Friend took back the top position and celebrated victory in the photo finish. Behind second-placed Diaz, Maximov fought his way back up to third place after initial scuffles, ending the weekend ahead of Nikishov and Marcell Zsebo (KMS Europe).
Junior MAX: Ethan Jeff-Hall prevails
Scott Marsh (Dan Holland Racing) had a tailor-made debut in Juniors. The English driver set the fastest lap time in qualifying and was not deterred in the heats. A preliminary victory was enough for the young driver for pole position in the intermediate ranking.
However, the start to the pre-final was turbulent. Marsh led the field, but fell back in the first laps after some tough racing. From then on, Ethan Jeff-Hall (Strawberry Racing) retained the leading position flawlessly. Lap after lap, the Tony Kart driver extended his lead and took a very satisfying win – but a time penalty threw him back to fourth in the results. Aaron Krepcsik (KMS Europe) moved up to first place. Vic Stevens (Daems Racing Team) finished second ahead of Marsh, who returned to the top three with the best time in the race and Austin Lee (JJ Racing) completed the first five.
Krepcsik knew how to implement his good starting position in the final. The Hungarian driver set the pace after the start of the race and initially managed to separate himself from the chasing field. As the race distance increased, however, Jeff-Hall and Marsh caught up. In the second to last lap, Jeff-Hall made the decisive manoeuvre and took the lead to get the deserved victory. Marsh tangled with Krepcsik shortly before the finish, dropping him back to sixth. Krepcsik therefore crossed the line safely in second place ahead of Stevens and Vinnie Phillips (Strawberry Racing). Fifth in the final was Leon Zelenko (JJ Racing).
Senior MAX: Callum Bradshaw with top performance on final day
The qualifying in the Seniors was also in British hands on Friday afternoon. Kai Hunter (Dan Holland) posted the fastest laptime, but was replaced at the top of the table after the heats. David Aulejtner (Strawberry Racing) showed a strong performance as one of the youngest drivers in the field and took first place on the grid for the pre-final with two preliminary victories.
Aulejtner held the lead from the start of the pre-final. However, Sean Butcher (KR Sport) made his move in the next lap to be at the front. Close behind, Callum Bradshaw (Strawberry Racing) created a lot of pressure. The reigning champion of the RMC Euro Trophy fought his way up to first place and gave his competition no hope of passing him before the checkered flag. Butcher finished second with a safe distance ahead of Aulejtner in third place. Fourth was Archie Walker (KR Sport), followed by senior rookie Kai Rillaerts (JJ Racing).
The start to the final was more chaotic: Even before the first corner, there was a collision between Aulejtner and Walker that sent them further back in the field. Bradshaw, on the other hand, stayed out of trouble and led confidently from the first lap. Over the race distance of 15 laps, the English driver convinced with impressive speed and took the victory. Butcher assumed the chasing role and crossed the finish line in front of Miska Kaskinen (Dan Holland Racing). Belgium’s Rillaerts was fourth, followed by Kai Hunter (Dan Holland Racing) in fifth.
Rotax DD2: Martijn van Leeuwen not to be beaten
Martijn van Leeuwen (Schepers Racing) made his intentions clear in the DD2. In the fastest category of the weekend, the Dutch driver was the measure of all things at the beginning of the event. Both in qualifying and in the heats, there was no way around the KR Kart driver.
The pre-final then also began in the spirit of van Leeuwen. From the start, the veteran drove one perfect lap after the other and built an ever-larger gap between himself and his pursuers. Up until the checkered flag fell, no one could match the Dutch driver. Patriks Noels Locmelis (MRG Racing) consistently ranked second ahead of Ragnar Veerus (BirelART Baltics) while Maxim Dirickx (Schepers Racing) moved up from seventh to fourth. The duel for fifth place was particularly exciting; in some cases, almost ten drivers were racing bumper-to-bumper, all vying for their chance. Rhys Hunter (Dan Holland Racing) defended his position to the checkered flag to take P5.
Van Leeuwen delivered a remarkable performance in the final as well and continued to dominate once more from the start of the race. Hunter positioned himself in second place as a direct pursuer. Van Leeuwen also defied two slow phases, in which the lead over his opponents was shortened again and again. In the end, the reigning Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals champion strengthened his position and celebrated a terrific victory. Hunter crossed the finish line in second followed by Veerus, who defended third place from Dirickx and Ville Viiliaeinen (RS Competition).
DD2 Masters: Martynas Tankevicius sets the pace for victory
Rudy Champion had a firm grip on the DD2 Masters’ title. In qualifying, in the heats and in the pre-final, the French driver was the benchmark in his class. The first race was won by the experienced kart driver with a respectable lead over his fellow countrymen Jonathan Wemaux and Bruno dos Santos. However, a time penalty was imposed on Champion after the race that made Wemaux the new winner ahead of Dos Santos. Martynas Tankevicius turned up the heat at the halfway point to finish third with the fastest lap time ahead of Christophe Adams and Priit Sei (TGT Racing).
Tankevicius demonstrated his good speed in the final too. Shortly after the start, the racing driver from Lithuania took the lead and extended it more lap by lap. With a gap of almost five seconds to his nearest rival Wemaux, he enjoyed a well-earned win. Behind him, the positions were clearly distributed as well; Dos Santos came back strong for third over Sei and Carl Cleirbaut (SP Motorsport).
After the successful start to the international Rotax racing season in Europe, the action continues after a short break when the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy begins this year’s championship with the opening round in Genk, Belgium from April 22 to 24.
